My volcano-obsessed 8 year old loves this book. It's full of useful information and even has a few cheesy jokes thrown in to keep it fun (which she repeats to us again later), but still had a lot of scientific information presented in a visually appealing way.
My five (going on 6) year old grandson has been fascinated with volcanoes for several years now. He loves this book and spends hours looking at all of the pictures. He has a million questions each time. He can't really read yet on his own but this is one of his favorite books!
My 3.5 year old son has shown an interest in volcanoes (we live near Mt. At. Helens) and so I got this book for him. He loves looking at all the pictures and asked us to read it to him often. I'd definitely buy more of this series to help spark learning and engagement with my kids.
It's very fun to read and it says something in the beginning and it is true I wanted to read it to my mommy
Bought this book for my kids to read as they were studying for their volcano science project. Very informative and a great buy to go along with a Volcano experiment kit.
This book was a gift for my seven year old grandson. He is very interested in natural disasters so he loved this book as well as others he asked for in the National Geographic series.
I got this as part of my son's 4th birthday gift, which will also include an Uncle Milton's ice and fire volcano and a volcano movie, since he's obsessed with volcanos. The pictures are wonderful but it will also be interesting to read since it has so many great facts. We already have the weirdest sea creatures book and this one seems to be just as wonderful. Plan to buy more of this wonderful line of books.
Does your kid like volcanos? Then they will love this book. Great book for a curious child who loves volcanos and lava.
