Review

"Marrs attempts to bring together the gist of all [the assassination] material into one thorough source book.... He neatly capsulizes the plethora of theories offered by critics of the lone-gunman theory.... Crossfire is compelling, albeit macabre, reading."―Washington Post"Marrs re-examines issues never satisfactorily resolved by the official inquiries.... Crossfire raises profound and deeply troubling questions."―Cleveland Plain Dealer"The big daddy of the conspiracy books on the JFK assassination, and one that can't be taken lightly. A sheer tour de force that may be the final word until 2039 -- when government files on the case can be unlocked."―Kirkus Reviews"The huge mass of evidence Marrs presents to support his theory is irresistibly intriguing."―Booklist"Dallas journalist Marrs brings together, under one cover, diverse theories and facts.... He points to the inconsistencies and unexplained elements embodied in the official version as to what transpired before, during, and after the President's death."―Library Journal

I love the clear, coordinated accounts, the contrast with info included in the Warren Commission and, of course, the confirmation of my own belief, held since I was 10 years old at the time of the assassination, that the "kill shot" came from the grassy knoll. Until 9/11, this terrible event was a touchstone of my life: spectacular dreams dashed, the trajectory of our country's progress altered forever, the horrific, public death of a man who never deserved it. Marrs does an incredible job of telling this story. It reminds me that, however, tedious it will be, I want to read the Warren Report one day.

Jim Marrs's Crossfire is an important read for anyone that has read any of number of other sources on the subject. It covers all of the info previous investigators have uncovered and it includes a number of eyewitness accounts frompeople present on the day of the crime. The layout of the book walks the reader through the setup of the crime, the crime scene and what happened afterwards. It also includes a number of eye witness accounts that sink any belief in the single shooter/3 bullet theory that thegovernment had put forward as THE explanation. He also points out a major problem with the tree. A large tree actuallypartially blocked the 6th story view such that only 2 shots could have been made from the School Book Repositorybuilding (not 3 continuous shots). His accounting also places 4 to 5 shooters at the crime scene, not one and upto nine shots fired from different guns - that is one of the reasons for the book's title.Jim as a long term reporter/journalist in Texas has a well developed sense of detail on all of the majorplayers and what they had been doing before, during and after the crime. He tries to give as best an explanation for eachof the problems related to the government's official response he examines. He lets thereader make up their own opinion.

This book sets a professional standard for understanding the Kennedy assassination. The book is long but detailed, with every piece of vital information properly footnoted and referenced in an excellent index. Already familiar with much information about the JFK event, this book gives a very in-depth look into why it occurred, as well as the principal players, and those who attempted to cover-up the vital evidence for many years. Written by someone who is a reporter by trade; Marrs has a university degree and taught a course on the murder; it should be required reading for any class on the social history of the United States, from the late 20th Century thru the 21st. With his intimate knowledge of the witnesses, places of the various events in Dallas, and the inner-workings of the Dallas police department, the evidence...there is so much validated research, including the latest information on the flawed Zapruder film.....this is the book to start with when wanting to know everything about the JFK murder. This is the gold standard of research on the Kennedy assassination.

Crossfire by Jim Marrs is essentially the unofficial encyclopedia regarding the Kennedy Assassination and Coup D’etat. In this phenomenal tome Marrs carries out a methodical examination of all the intricacies that revolved around this incident. From breaking through the veil of the official story, to heading into the darker aspects of the conspiracy, Marrs attempts to leave no stone unturned .Marrs takes a gander at everything from nefarious dealings of the CIA, to witness accounts that eviscerate the official narrative, to examinations of the grassy knoll as well as the depository. Of course, there is a LOT more.Finding peculiar – “coincidental” – instances littering the event, Marrs homes in on the issue with the ambulance that was to serve as the reason for President Kennedy’s motorcade having to stop, to countless dead witnesses [and people in the know]- 143! – and even suspect dealings with the secret service and how it acted once the assassination began taking place. Each of this is sifted to leaving the reader aghast at such events. Not only that, but the cover up that ensued, which no doubt involved Lyndon B. Johnson and insiders from the CIA, FBI, Secret Service, and more, is also examined at length into a variety of rabbit trails that will leave the reader furious at the fact that so many people turned their backs on Kennedy, or they were part of the conspiracy in the first place.Issues with the infamous Zapruder film are also given a glance given all circumstances revolving around it.The author also examines how the CIA and its notorious mind control experiments via MK Ultra might dovetail with the assassination. As the author saliently notes:“Since Oswald may have taken a mind-altering drug; since his killer, Jack Ruby, told Dallas police he had no recollection of shooting Oswald; since Sirhan Sirhan, the presumed assassin of Robert Kennedy, still claims he can’t remember what happened in the Ambassador Hotel; and since a San Quentin psychologist, Dr. Eduard Simson, proclaimed that Sirhan has been “programmed” by drugs, hypnosis, or both, the possibility of mind control in the JFK assassination…cannot be ruled out.”[1]Besides homing in on Lyndon B. Johnson, the author also thankfully narrows in on J. Edgar Hoover, whose ability “to gather information and then to control it” give him enormous power. This along with his suspect dealings within the assassination, are more than ample reasons as to why Hoover is likely very complicit in the assassination.Marrs also lays down the fact that many witnesses were in fact intimidated by the authorities into going with the official narrative. Regarding this, the author soberingly notes:“Witnesses Charles Givens, James Tague, Phil Willis, Kennedy aides Kenneth O’Donnel and David Powers, and former senator Ralph Yarborough were pressured to alter their statements, while others – including Ed Hoffman, A.J. Millican, Sandy Speaker, Acquilla Clemons, and Richard Carr – were threatened into silence.”[2]Predictably, the mainstream media – being part of the establishment – didn’t even bother in examining their testimony, nor anything else that might blow the lid on the cover up. Then again, being the official mouthpiece of the establishment, this is par for the course.Of course, the author also homes in on many of the interests that revolved around the assassination from Big Oil, to the Big Banks, the Mob, the Cubans, FBI, CIA, and more. How Jack Ruby’s role plays out around this conspiracy is also given more than a fair glance by Marrs. Interestingly, Jack Ruby dying of cancer dovetails with information from Dr. Mary’s Monkey – How The Unsolved Murder Of A Doctor, A Secret Laboratory In New Oreleans and Cancer-Causing Monkey Viruses Are Linked To Lee Harvey Assassination And Emerging Global Epidemics by Edward T. Haslam. Haslem found that cancer was able to be induced via injection, which rings ominous since Ruby dying of an unexpected cancer certainly sent shockwaves given how many researchers have postulated that Ruby was indeed given cancer as a covert method of murder. One of the worst parts of all this is that the cover-up continues until this very day.Regarding this, the author notes feelings related from a JFK assassination research website, JFK Facts:“If JFK was killed by a deranged lone nut, why are so many records from 1963 considered so significant in 2012? Why were records destroyed? Who ordered their destruction? Where are the Air Force One tapes? Why can’t they be found? Why are so many CIA documents about undercover officers with pre-assassination knowledge of Lee Harvey Oswald classified for reasons of national security? Why doesn’t Congress oversee the JFK Records Act? Why don’t they hold public hearings on these issues and get answers to these questions?“[3]Or, as Governor Jesse Ventura intimated:“If the government were telling the truth, there would be no reason to lock up anything from the people of this country. Clearly, they are not, because here we are 50 years later, and they are still withholding documents from us.”[4]Consider this mandatory reading if you care about what’s happening to this country. This book not only proves without a shadow of a doubt that the official story is hogwash, but it also proves that there is overwhelming evidence that Oswald was a fall guy. Not only that, but:“The Dallas police paraffin test showed no gunpowder on Oswald’s hands or cheek, evidence that he did not fire a rifle…”[5]Of course, the ballistic evidence and medical evidence also support a more concerted and conspiracy into more power elements given that only a select few would have the ability to alter data related to the assassination. All things considered, this book is a masterful analysis that not only eviscerates the official narrative, but also sheds light into many of the darker components that played a role into the assassination of President Kennedy. It’s my contention, as well as that of other researchers that many of the elements that played a role in carrying out that assassination are still around today. Given how much our nation has deteriorated since the assassination with every new scandal and with every new crisis, we have not rid ourselves of this deadly shadow. And we must, for how can true change ever take place if the darkness lie embedded within a structure that should stand for good, but unfortunately hasn’t, and has only stood to support the most corrupt within the establishment. For this, and many more reasons, this book is vital in understanding how we got into this current moment history as a society.Kindest Regards,Zy MarquiezTheBreakaway.wordpress.com____________________________________________________________Sources:[1] Jim Marrs, Crossfire – The Plot That Killed Kennedy, pg. 172[2]Ibid., pg. 543.[3]Ibid., pg. 515.[4]Ibid., pg. 515.[5]Ibid., pg. 540.

I read the first edition when it first came out. It is well-written, so much so that it could also be used as a reference book. As you may already know, Oliver Stone used it as a reference, along with Jim Garrison's ON THE TRAIL OF THE ASSASSINS for his film, JFK. The 2nd edition also fills in where the 1st left off, including the Assassination Review Board results and aftermath. His conclusions (they are my own also) STILL hold up even after MANY in the mainstream media still tout Lee Oswald as the "lone-nut assassin". If you are not sure, this is a very objective book to draw your own conclusions.

I passed the exam at 1st try with this book two weeks ago. This book is definitely very useful, I did not get time to take mock final exam, but I complete rest chapter with above 70% passing score. My final exam is above target. I would say if you can pass most of the exams here, you would pass PMP. Questions are very similar. Calculation problem is much less than my expected in the real PMP exam.

Took the PMP exam this morning and got AT on all sections. I used this book along with a another study guide. After going through 4 different sources for practice questions, these questions are the closest to the actual exams. Some of these are harder than the actual test. The explanations are like a mini study guide, very detail. The questions are mostly scenarios to choose the "best", "most", "first", etc..Overall I was able to learn how the questions on the exam was worded and how to select best answer. Knowing the question format is a key to passing. If you are not familiar with the format, would be like trying to run with learning how to walk. This is a must have.

Pretty good questions. I feel like they represent the material well, and seem to be on par with questions from other legit sources.Typesetting in this book could be improved. More annoying than a functional concern.First chapter has repeating questions.Chapter 5 or 6, the question numbering is off. Starts at 2,for 32 questions. Answers start at 1 for 32 questions in the chapter. So question 2s answer is numbered as 1 in the key. Question 3s answer is numbered as 2. Pattern progresses all the way to question 27. There are 2 question 27s. Which is where the questions and keys sync up properly. These things are all a matter of better editing and typesetting needed. Otherwise, this book is recommended.

I purchased this book as a prep tool before taking my boot camp class and ultimately taking my PMP exam. I found the book to be very challenging and it was instrumental in passing my PMP the first time. I went through all questions in the book 2-3 times each. It gives great reasons why an answer is what it is. I would recommend this to anyone taking their PMP. Passed today w/above target rating.

Overall it is an OK book but I found some errors. I took the 200 question mock exam and it marked me wrong on a few questions but the description says my answer is correct. They put the wrong multiple choice letter as the correct answer. I probably would have picked a different book based on this. I am not sure how accurate this is now.

I'll admit that I was skeptical at first because of the great price for this book but I found it extremely helpful. The practice questions really prepared me for the exam. I previously spent much more on a book that resulted in me failing at my first attempt at the PMP exam. After purchasing this book and going through all the exercises, I knew and I felt prepared to take the test. I took the test and easily passed. I would certainly recommend this book.

Exactly what I need to prepare

Very informative and detailed
